Why was Lexie written off GREY's anatomy?
Chyler Leigh decided to leave 'Grey's Anatomy' of her own accord. Many characters are notoriously killed off of Grey's due to differences with production or controversies with the actors. However, Chyler Leigh was not one of those people. She decided to leave to spend more time with her family.

Out of 400 episodes, Season 6, Episode 24 “Death and All His Friends” may be the most emotional episode of Grey's Anatomy so far.

Does Meredith get Alzheimer's?

Why did Mark Sloan leave?
Because it would never be any other way on a show as sudsy as Grey's, creator Shonda Rhimes decided to kill Mark Sloan—also known lovingly as McSteamy, due to his shower-steam-and-towel introduction to Grey's in season 2—in an excruciating and melodramatic way.
Mark discovers that he has an 18-year-old daughter, Sloan Riley (Leven Rambin), who arrives seeking his support after becoming pregnant and being evicted by her mother. Mark allows her to move in with him, which upsets Lexie.
"I met with [series creator] Shonda [Rhimes] and we worked together to give Lexie's story appropriate closure." Leigh's character was ultimately killed off in a plane crash, but her character returns from the dead in the show's 17th season, which began airing in November 2020.

Sadly, Reed never had a shot at survival, and Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) had to watch Charles die in her arms because the lifts were turned off during the emergency and she couldn't get into an operating room in time to save him.

Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) address the injuries, Meredith realizes she is unable to speak. They soon discover that she's lost her hearing as a result of the beating she endured. The episode then draws into silence as it is shown from Meredith's perspective, who is unable to hear, or speak.
She was helping friends move into a new apartment when a piano accidentally fell directly on top of her, paralyzing her from the waist down. Finding herself in an unfamiliar role - needing to be rescued, she managed to maintain her composure and figure out what she needed to do to get safely to the hospital.
She and Derek reconcile. Meredith chooses a general surgery specialty over neuro, and they successfully fight to get Zola back.
