Who does Nini end up with?
Act Two. In the Season finale, Nini gets thrown off by the fact that E.J. is now in Ricky's role. While singing Breaking Free, E.J. decides to step aside so that Nini can sing with Ricky. After the curtain call, Ricky confesses his love for her and she confesses her love for him and they kiss.

To High School Musical: The Musical: The Series fans, Ricky and Nini were endgame, but the characters didn't see it that way. Following an emotional moment in the show's second season, the East High teens — played by Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo, respectively — called it quits.
After the musical finishes he goes to talk to Nini about the Dean of YAC leaving and he asks her about what to do since the musical has finished. As she's about to leave he tells her he loves her and gives her a monologue about how he's loved her since the 7th grade and they kiss.
Ahead of her moms' college reunion, Nini is reintroduced to their friend Marvin (played by Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson), whom they reveal to be — wait for it — Nini's biological father!
Episode Two
In the second episode, Nini goes on her trip to Los Angeles and meets her moms' friend Marvin, played by recent Tony winner Jesse Tyler Ferguson. As it turns out, he is also her birth father!
Nini (Olivia Rodrigo), who plays Gabriella in the theater kids' production, has two moms; Ricky (Joshua Bassett), who plays Troy, sports a Pride T-shirt; and Seb lands the role of Sharpay, originated by Ashley Tisdale.
Nini and Ricky started dating a year prior to the first epsiode. In the beginning of the summer break before junior year, Nini confessed her love for him after posting a video of her singing I Think I Kinda, You Know on Instagram. Ricky couldn't say 'I Love You' back and he wanted a break.
Olivia's final scene in the series was in the season 3 finale, and it actually made a subtle nod to her "Drivers License" success. Nini decides to make the move from East High to the west coast to finish her senior year and continue pursuing her dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter.
In the beginning of Season 2, Gina is still not over Ricky and pining, but in the later half she gets over him and starts to fall in love with EJ. They become closer over time and eventually they both start realized their feelings for one another.
At the end of the trailer, Big Red comes out and says, “Hi, I'm Big Red, I'm Ashlyn's boyfriend, and I'm bi.” Ricky (Joshua Bassett), Big Red's best friend, looks to Ashlyn for confirmation, then nods, and says, “good for him!” The show now has five out queer teens on it!
Does Ricky and Gina kiss?
During Season 3, while Gina is in a relationship with E.J. Caswell, they grow close again, with Ricky soon after rekindling his buried feelings for Gina during the season. In Let It Go, Gina confesses her feelings to Ricky again at the Frozen The Musical The Documentary red carpet and they share a kiss.
